Pop the Paper Umbrellas in the Drinks and Let's Go to the Beach...

Summer's Approaching!
And I'm thinking about the beach while I'm anchored inside.
So I decided to make whatever I wanted, you sea?
Is that shellfish?

This pink and brown shell is set with twisted scalloped links, smooth life preserver-inspired links, and finished with a lobster clasp.

NEW in the Garden... Lilly the Ladybug!

Ladybugs are known to be good luck.
Take Lilly home and let her work her magic.

The NEW Agate Collection

I love agate--all the striped, wavy, colorful patterns.
There's seemingly no end to the agate rainbow.
But if there is an end, I'd bet instead of gold, there's a pot o' more gorgeous agate.

Let Your Freak Flag Fly!

You've heard the phrase "Let your Freak Flag fly," and now you can--literally! Celebrate your free spirit and wear your freakiness with pride with this hand-stamped sterling silver pendant. All pendants come on a black leather and sterling silver necklace (choice of 16" or 18").

Also, thanks to the Artisan Group, I have the good fortune of putting these babies in the celebrity swag bags for this year's MTV Movie Awards! Get your freak on!

Happy Fool's Gold Day!

On this joyous holiday, let's take a look at some Fool's Gold--AKA Pyrite. Last year, I had the opportunity to dig up some of my very own pyrite. I remember getting out of the truck and being dazzled by all the sparkly goodness on the ground just waiting for me to give it a good home. Pyrite is an iron sulfide that comes in a variety of shapes and structures such as cubes, discs, or crystal clusters (the kind I found). I loved being able to dig up something cool from the ground and making a finished piece of jewelry with it. There's a box of beauties that still need to be featured, but here is what I've made so far.

It's Not Easy Bein' Green... Oh, Wait. It Totally Is.

It's easy, that is, if you support businesses that recycle like... ohhhhh... for instance... just throwing one out there randomly... ErinMichael.com. :) That's right. The silver I use is scrap silver melted down with a torch and rolled out to make brand new things. Thanks to the Artisan Group, I have the opportunity to celebrate Earth Day and get the word out to eco-conscious famous types like P!nk, Ellen DeGeneres, Sting, Drew Barrymore, and Jake Gyllenhaal! I'm especially excited about P!nk. I've had a girl crush on her for awhile and think she is super-badass. In my head, we'd hang and be besties. And Jake Gyllenhaal & Drew Barrymore?! A "Donnie Darko" twofer! It is my all-time very favoritest of movies. Seriously. I own it and have watched it a zillion times.

The list doesn't stop there--I mean, it's crazy-good:
Tom Hanks, Orlando Bloom, Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz, KT Tunstall, Woody Harrelson, Courteney Cox, Dave Matthews, Jeremy Piven, Bill Maher, Adrian Grenier, Kate Bosworth, Rosario Dawson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Daryl Hannah, Josh Hartnett, Barbra Streisand, Alicia Silverstone, Mark Ruffalo, and Edward Norton.

If, er, WHEN (positive thinking y'all) I hear from them or their people, I'll mop up my puddle of pee then let you know. Cross your fingers for me!

Note: The Artisan Group is a select group of talented artisans who collectively provides a lovely sampling of handcrafted products to celebrities.

Can You Feel It?

A pendant to give you goosebumps, "LOVE" is spelled out in raised Braille letters down the length of the silver pendant, and a gold heart finishes the end.

I've Been Published in a Magaziiiiiiiiiiine!!!

And not just any magazine--Art Jewelry Magazine! I subscribed shortly after I started getting into metalworking and ogled all the amazing creations in it. Now, to be able to flip through the colorful glossy pages and see something that I've made inside... Aaaaaaaaaa!!! I am super-stoked!!! When they hit the newsstand, I'll be in Michaels flipping all those mags open to the page with "Seize the Daisy."

On page 44 of the March 2012 issue of "Art Jewelry Magazine" on sale January 31st...

Getting My Vitamin D

It's sunny and almost 80° here today, so I took advantage of the perfect weather and walked over to the pond at the park. For a place that is in a perpetual drought, there are a number of water-lovin' birds hanging out.

Love the iridescent green feathers on a mallard's head.

I have only one egret... har har...

Ready... Aim... Fire up the Torch!

I dig the combo of artsy and badass.
Check out this guy... He uses a torch to 'paint' portraits on bullet casings.
POW!

January is Braille Literacy Month

I thought this would be a great opportunity for a new version of my "Feel the Love" pendant. In Braille, the word "LOVE" is spelled out down the ribbon of sterling silver and a raised gold heart glistens on the end.

Something New for You to Moon Over

Made from sterling silver and not green cheese...

Riding the '80s New Wave

This pendant was inspired by the classic 1988 film with Roddy Piper--"They Live." (See clip below.) In a defining scene, Roddy enters a bank ready to put a hurtin' on the invading alien population, and announces his intentions with the line
"I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass...and I'm all out of bubblegum."
Wear this and proceed to conquer your day and dominate all in your path.
